The renowned Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology ISIT needed not only pictures of the research labs (see Science) but also business portraits of their leading scientists and managers.
The challenge was to make portraits of the busy employees in a time-saving but individual and personal way. The solution – to set up a mobile photo studio on site in a conference room and to take pictures on a precise schedule. Every fifteen minutes a scientist stood in front of the lens, time enough to get to know each other and capture the best side of each one.
By the way, I find hands very expressive and often include them in the picture. Everyone has a different way of holding themselves.
