A good portrait shows more than the mere appearance of the businesswoman/businessman – it tells a story in which the person and what he or she does is brought to life.
In a portrait session I talk to the person being photographed, we exchange ideas. I ask questions and listen. In doing so I find out what motivates the person and capture the optimal moment.
Business portraits can take on an amazing number of forms. Studio shots are certainly a part of it, but more often I shoot in a particularly suitable, meaningful environment that is thematically related to the person being portrayed. So-called environmental portraits offer the viewer much more insight.
I firmly believe that what is photographed in portraits is not only the person’s appearance but also the relationship that is established between the person being portrayed and the photographer.
